Jerome Tower Allotments Improvements by South Acton Community Allotments (SACA)
SACA are continuing their work on the allotements next to Jerome Towers. They will be holding a number of clear-up and construction days, basic growing skills workshops and open days.
The next event will be held on Sunday 19 August from 11.00am - 5.00pm. Come along to see the allotments and community project, whilst learning how to sow and grow salad leaves. you can also lend a helping hand to help get the allotments back in working order.

Movement for Music by Bollo Brook Youth Club
Experienced youth workers run daytime workshops for young people, offering the opportunity to work with a music production tutor and to learn skills such as beat making, lyric writing, music production and DJ-ing. Participants will be able to make their own original track and to take home a copy, which will also be disseminated to partner organisations and other groups in the Youth Music Network. Other professionals will also be on hand to offer advice and guidance on the industry.
Those that excel in the above will be offered the opportunity to take part in additional, more complex, workshops.
The project is targeted at young people who are not engaging in mainstream education and places are allocated on a referral basis. However, if you are interested or know of a young person that would benefit from the project, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Acton Gardens funding has allowed for United Anglo Caribbean Society (UACS) to continue support 60-80 year olds on the estate. Volunteers provide home visits, arrange carers, liaise with social services, assist with benefit applications, amongst many other referrals, support and assistance to the elderly community.
UACS offer a drop in basis facility at their office, open daily to provide advice to elderly residents, and a social club (offering support and a place to socialise) which is open four days a week.

Social Arts & Therapeutic Arts Sessions by Yasmin Dosanjh
Using art based projects, Yasmin provides sessions to help children at Berrymede Junior School improve their social skills and to understand differences between faiths, cultures and ethnicities.
The project also offers sessions to children who may be experiencing mental health, behaviour or self esteem problems. Additional sessions are also held for those with special educational needs.

Football Sessions by Acton United
A small group of residents formed Acton United last year. Working together with Acton Gardens & L&Q’s One Goal project, Acton United received training through QPR. Acton United now hold Level One FA Certificates in Coaching. Through receiving funding, they are now able to expand their project and hold the following sessions:
Acton United hold weekly football sessions for 5-15 year olds:

Bollo Brook Green (opposite Berrymede School)
They are also holding sessions within school holidays.

Women Volunteer and Advice Project by Somali Women Refugee Centre (SWRC)
SWRC will be holding welfare rights advice session for families in need, enabling them to gain information on access to basic and essential welfare, health care and child education support. The advice sessions will also help those in long term unemployment gain volunteering places, providing skills to help residents gain employment.

Community ESOL Classes by South Acton Children’s Centre
The Children’s Centre will be holding ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) for parents and the local community. There will also be a crèche to provide child care whilst you learn.
